Brett Favre Admits to Voicemails to Jenn Sterger: Top "Dog" of the NFL?

Julia Bodeeb
Bret tFavre has allegedly admitted to calling Jenn Sterger and leaving racy voicemails, notes the NY Post. Sterger was employed by the Jets at the same time Favre was on the team as a quarterback, in 2008. What will this mean for Brett Favre's career with the Minnesota Vikings and for his marriage?

Bret Favre: Breaking the Rules of NFL?

Favre allegedly told NFL officials investigating the claims of his calls to Sterger that he did indeed leave voice messages for Sterger, notes Fox. However, he denies sending pictures to Jenn Sterger. The NFL will now have to decide how to proceed now that Favre has admitted contacting Sterger. That is likely a violation of the NFL's personal conduct regulations for NFL players.

Sterger has not yet met with the NFL officials to discuss the way Favre was attempting to date her via his calls and messages. If she does the NFL may be forced to take action against Favre as his behavior could be construed as harassment of a coworker.

Brett Favre: Married Man

Favre's wife, Deanna, is a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with the illness in 2004, notes the National Ledger. The last thing she needs is more stress due to her husband's alleged hound dog type behavior with Ms. Sterger.

How could Favre act in such an immature way when his wife has had a life threatening health crisis? And Favre is no longer a young man. He is age 41, which makes it harder to comprehend how he could go against his marriage vows in such a juvenile way.

Deanna Favre: A Strong Woman

Deanna Favre told "Good Morning America" "I'm a woman of faith. Faith has gotten me through many difficult struggles. It will get me through this one."

Deanna was on "Good Morning America" to talk about her book "The Cure for the Chronic Life." It is sad that what should have been a wonderful experience for her was tainted by the news that her husband had acted inappropriately.

Will Deanna continue to stand by Brett? Only time will tell. Many women would kick him to the curb for his actions toward another woman. As Jenny Sanford moves along in her single life after ditching her "Appalachian Trail" philandering husband, perhaps Deanna will also decide enough is enough and initiate a divorce.

Brett Favre has shown a huge lack of common sense. Let's hope he finds the maturity to understand the commitment needed for a strong and happy marriage.
