Brett Favre Fine Leaves Jenn Sterger Unsatisfied Over Penis Pics Conclusion

Will Jenn Sterger Take Legal Action

Bryan Mckinley
Brett Favre was fined $50,000 by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, but not suspended for the Jenn Sterger "sexting" scandal. Is Jenn Sterger now going to take legal action against the legendary Vikings quarterback?

Well, Miss Sterger, at least you can now say Favre was punished for texting you those penis pics and leaving you those voicemails. Then again, there is a problem with even that theory. Favre was not fined because of the texts that he had allegedly sent the reporter while with the Jets. Commissioner Goodell determined there was not enough evidence to make a conclusion on the Jenn Sterger and Brett Favre "sexting" scandal. Favre was instead fined $50,000 by the NFL for merely not cooperating with the investigation. This proves one thing; not cooperating was a great move by Favre. It's like having a choice between helping with the investigation and getting suspended for at least four games or just saying you'd rather not be of assistance and get a small slap on the hand.

Was Goodell soft on Favre?

This is a very rare and light punishment from Roger Goodell. Maybe Goodell has become the new #1 Brett Favre fan. Heck, he suspended "Big" Ben Roethlisberger when the police cleared him of charges. He was suspended for putting himself in bad situations. Isn't Favre putting himself in a bad situation? None of this really matters, though. If Big Ben was guilty of crimes with either of those two young women, then he got off as light as humanly possible. Also, Favre didn't do anything even close to as bad as what the Steelers quarterback was alleged to have done. What stands out to me is that does Roger Goodell really seem like the kind of guy that only fines a player when he isn't cooperating with a NFL investigation? I would've thought that the NFL commissioner would've come down harsher on a player for playing hardball with the NFL than for even admitting guilt to a crime. The key question left in everybody's mind will still be did Favre get off easy because he is Brett Favre? I wonder if Peyton Manning would get the same suspensions as Adam "Pacman" Jones, Ben Roethlisberger or Plaxico Burress did when their issues came to the NFL's office. Would he get the NFL darling treatment like Favre might have?

What's next for Jenn Sterger

Will Jenn Sterger sue Brett Favre and the NFL? Sterger and her lawyer have stated that she would be willing not to sue, if the NFL does right by her and suspends Favre. Now that their investigation is over and she is left unsatisfied, the next issue on the agenda is whether legal action is on the horizon. The prosecution would like to submit Brett Favre's penis as evidence her honor.
