Brett Favre Needs to Say Bye Bye for Real This Time

I have to tell you, I for one hope Brett Favre finally stays retired. I think what he did to the Jets this year is a disgrace and that it is time that people stop stroking his image and start to discuss what he actually did to the Green Bay Packers during the offseason of his first retirement and how far he actually set the Jets back over the last year.

You constantly hear that the Packers forced him out of the organization and that is flat out wrong. They asked him for a decision and he was the one who decided to retire. The organization had every right to ask him for that decision as they had to get their next season plans ready and they gave him more than enough time to make the decision that he wanted to.

After that, he started to talk negatively about an organization that made him a king. They didn't owe Brett Favre anything; it was the other way around. Look at some of the efforts that he put in and you can see that he just wasn't into the game anymore.

Then he reports to the Jets late and comes in and it was quite apparent that he was mailing his performance in after about week 10. Now consider how far back this move takes the Jets as a football organization. They had a hired gun for one year when they could have had their QB of the future getting familiar with all of their systems. Not only that, but they also lost their coach and have a team that is now in total disarray.

Brett Favre went to the Jets out of selfishness and his behavior from the moment he left the Green Bay Packers was an absolute disgrace. You constantly hear reporters talking about how it was the right decision because they had more wins, but having a one year QB who packs it in about half way through the season when times get tough is not good. How much did he affect the attitude of the rest of the team after he stopped playing with heart? What kind of example has been sent for the rest of the team by management? And let's not forget the fact that a good head coach lost his job in the process.

Hopefully, Brett Favre will stay retired this time and we can stop hearing his name every Sunday and every time a Packers or Jets game is on the air. I for one am sick of it and just want the NFL to be able to move on from him. He was nothing more than an average QB at the end of his career, not the savior that everyone is making him out to be. His stats speak for themselves and any team would be crazy if they thought about talking to him if he pulls the stunt of unretiring again. They are only going to put themselves in the same position as Green Bay was last year and that the Jets are in this year, TURMOIL.
