Brett Favre Injury is a Lacerated Chin
The Vikings reported that Favre suffered a lacerated chin and did not return in the game. Brett Favre has started an NFL record 292 games in a row. Favre started the game against the Patriots with two fractured bones, one in his ankle, and the other was in his heel. In addition, to that injury, Brett Favre also is suffering from tendinitis in his elbow. The new injury to Brett Favre's chin, coupled with his previous ankle and elbow injuries may put his 293rd start as an NFL quarterback in jeopardy.
Before Brett Favre suffered his injury in the game against the New England Patriots, he threw 32 passes, 22 of which where completed. Favre also threw and interception. His passes gained 259 yards for the Vikings. The Vikings back-up quarterback, Tavaris Jackson came in to relieve Favre, and on his first pass from the line of scrimmage, Tavaris Jackson threw a touchdown strike to Naufahu Tahi, who ran a route out of the backfield. Tavaris Jackson the threw a 2 point conversion to Percy Jackson.
The New England Patriots went on to win the game 28 to 18. The Patriots improved their record to 6-1. The Minnesota Vikings record fell to 2-5. It is likely that the Vikings have now fell out of playoff contention with the loss.
Favre has told the media that he plans to stick the the Vikings for the entire season, no matter what happens. But with his recent injuries, one has to wonder if he just may go ahead and retire. Brett Favre has also been under investigation by the NFL due to possible inappropriate behavior during his season spent with the New York Jets.
The 41 year old Favre has played for 19 years in the NFL, most of his time was spend with the Green Bay Packers. He has thrown for more than 70,400 yards, nearly 40 miles!
