Brett Favre's Sister Arrested in Meth Lab Bust in Mississippi

Brandi Favre, the sister of Brett Favre and quarterback of the New York Jets, was arrested Wednesday, January 12, 2011 following a methane bust in Hancock County in the state of Mississippi according to several websites.

Brandi Favre was charged with possession of a controlled substance, manufacturing methamphetamine, transferring a controlled substance and generating a hazardous waste. Four other individuals were also arrested in the bust.

Mississippi authorities made the bust after observing the condo in Diamondhead, Mississippi for several weeks after an undercover officer purchased meth from one of the individuals arrested in the bust. Diamondhead is located just ten miles away from Kiln, Mississippi where Brandi and Brett grew up.

Officers found a makeshift lab in the bathroom of the condo where meth was being produced. A total of approximately 9 to 10 grams of meth was discovered in the bathroom of the condo during the raid.

All of the suspects were taken to a local hospital for decontamination before being arrested. Decontamination was necessary because residue from the process of making meth is very flammable.

Brandi Favre has two previous arrests on record. She was arrested in 1999 on a felony charge along with her sister in law for stealing clothing and in 1996 for unlawful use of a weapon in conjunction with a drive-by shooting according to the Zap 2 It website.

This will add to the list of embarrassing memories for her brother, Brett, as he is continually reminded of private pictures of body parts that hit the internet that he was sent to a female reporter while covering the New York Jets. Favre was fined $50,000 by the NFL for the incident.

Brett Favre was also named in a lawsuit filed by two previous employees of the New York Jets who claim that he sexually harassed them in 2008. The two employees were massage therapists who were let go after they made claims of sexual harassment by Favre.

Favre is expected to retire once again after a shoulder injury received late in the 2010 season.
