No matter whether you live locally and have never been to the Brevard Zoo, or are are visiting on vacation one thing is certain. You are in for a treat.

The Brevard Zoo has a great deal to offer local families and visitors. In addition to the numerous animal exhibits, you'll find areas for kayaking with guided behind the scenes tours. The Brevard Zoo has over 22 acres of wetlands for you to explore by kayak, with guided tours running through out the day. The guided tours are a great way to see real wetland creatures up close and personal in their natural environment

If getting into the wetlands isn't your cup of tea, you can hop aboard the Brevard Zoo train which shuttles you around the Zoo and various exhibits. A great way to save time and get a tour of the Zoo's other attractions, plus it will help you keep cool on the hotter summer days.

The Brevard Zoo has some of the most exciting animal exhibits in all of Florida. You can go on safari in the expedition Africa zoo exhibit. While exploring you can get up close and feed the giant giraffes, or walk down to the rivers edge and see the rare white rhinoceros. The Brevard Zoo has teamed with several international programs to support conservation efforts in their Zoo with animals from Zimbabwe, Kenya, Botswana, Cameroon Gabon, and many other African nations.

Next take a leisurely stroll through the jungle in the La Selva exhibit. The Zoo's Las Selva jungle will bring you up close and personal with beautiful tropical birds, ferocious jaguars and many different species of African monkeys. You'll have the chance to feed several of the animals here in La Selva and there are shows and tours running through out the day that make you the star of the show. Next take a look at the Australia exhibit where you can find some of the most popular attractions in the Brevard Zoo. At the Zoo's The Austral-Asia Loop you will find an open air aviary where the tropical birds fly free and entertain guests with a warm greeting. Some of the beautiful exotic birds include parrots, kookaburras, cockatoos and more. If you want to get up closer and personal, you can feed the beautiful lorikeets and other birds. They offer seed sticks but the real treat for these birds is a fruity nectar like food that is offered. It must taste incredible since they seem to love it so choosing this to feed them might just be a great hot tip for your zoo adventure feeding.

The Australia exhibit also includes many animals from around the continent of Asia as well. You'll see exotic creatures such as fruit bats from Indonesia, tiny deer called muntijacs from china and enormous Cassowaries which look as if they've come out of the pre historic dinosaur age. Of course no trip to an Australian and Asian world would be complete without cute cuddly Koalas, Wallabies and Kangaroos. The best part of this exhibit is that you'll be able to get up close and personal with almost all of these creatures, a truly incredible experience for you and your family.

For an up-close encounter, guests can feed the rainbow lorikeets fruity nectar or seed sticks to the cockatiles. Indonesian fruit bats (also known as flying fox), muntjacs (tiny deer from China), cassowaries (giant prehistoric-looking birds), warty pigs, wallabies, kangaroos, turtles, and emus round out the visit. Brevard Zoo supports conservation projects in Papua, New Guinea and the Philippines
