Breweries of Colorado Springs

Their Taps Are Flowing with Great Tasting Beer

In 1901, the historic Cheyenne Building was built in downtown Colorado Springs to house the Chicago Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. In 1909 it became the Cheyenne Hotel. Today it is the Phantom Canyon Brewing Company.

This historical location is more than just a brewery. It is a restaurant serving brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert. On the menu are such tasty delicacies as Crispy Pork Shank, Chili Rubbed Flatiron Steak, Grilled Rocky Mountain Rainbow Trout, and Baby Clams with Linguine.

The dessert menu will make your mouth water. Summer Sorbet Martini, Peanut Butter Cheesecake, and the Black and Tan Brownie may make you want to skip the dinner offerings altogether.

The brewery offers eight to ten specialty brews, including their homemade root beer, all made from pure Colorado water and the finest ingredients around. The beer is available to go in a variety of sizes.

The 100-year-old building also boasts a billiard hall on its second floor. This billiard room has been voted "best place to shoot pool" every year since 1996.

The Phantom Canyon Brewing Company is located at 2 E. Pikes Peak Avenue. Their phone number is (719) 635-2800.

The Bristol Brewing Company was established in 1994. They hand-brew their beers using only natural ingredients. Their beers are sold in liquor stores, bars, and restaurants in the state of Colorado.

Currently on tap at Bristol is the award winning Laughing Lab Scottish Ale as well as Red Rocket Pale Ale, Beehive Honey Wheat, Mass Transit Ale, Cheyenne Canyon Pinon Nut Ale, and many more. Some beers are available only at the brewery and others are only available during certain seasons, such as Winter Warlock, which is available only during the winter.

Bristol Brewing Company is open 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. They are located at 1647 S. Tejon in Colorado Springs. Their phone is (719) 633-2555. If you collect labels and coasters, you can send a self-addressed stamped envelope with your request to the company.

Arctic Craft Brewery is located at 2506 E. Platte Place in Colorado Springs. Beers available at Arctic Craft include thirst quenchers like On-On Ale, Vanilla Porter, Milk Stout, Peach Lager, and Raspberry Wheat.

Arctic Craft is the official beer of the Colorado Springs Beer Pong Association. Their beers will also be featured at Lager Fest at Soda Springs Park in Manitou Springs on August 11, and at the Great American Beer Fest in Denver on October 11-13.

The Arctic Craft tasting room is open Thursday 6:00 to close, Friday 5:00 to close, and Saturday 6:00 to close at their location on Platte Place.

The great tastes flowing from the taps at these three breweries keep the thirsts of Colorado Springs residents satiated.
