Brewers Beat Mets in 19-hitter
Casey McGeehee Claims Redemption for Dropped Ball with a Grand Salami in the 6th
In other news, JJ Hardy is back-going 4-4 with a walk, Hardy was a triple away from hitting for the cycle. Hardy wasn't the only one fighting back from a potential slump-Bill Hall went 2-2 after subbing in late and finished the game with a 2-out RBI double in the 7th and an RBI single in the 8th.
Other notables include Braden Looper who went 6.1 well-pitched innings before being retired by Todd Coffey. If it weren't for McGeehee's dropped ball, Looper would have walked off the field with a 0.00 ERA giving up only three hits to the east coasters. Pitching sensation Trevor Hoffman also deserves a strong head nod after his one-pitch save to put the W in print for the Brewers.
What a great game-over 39,000 fans there last night with energy enough to power L.A. for a couple days. There's nothing like going to a ball game and tailgating with friends and family while watching a clean home team victory. The sausage and peppers were superb, the local New Glarus brew washed everything down deliciously, and the game ended happy. America's pastime remains an incredible source of all kinds of pleasure.
