Brewing Storms Threaten to Hit RP Anew!

More Rains, More Floods Predicted!

Two tropical storms brewing along the Pacific Ocean, on the northeast side of the Philippines are seen by several weather stations.

If it continues to strengthen and heads towards northwest within the week, it could really worsen more RP's devastating condition that resulted from last week storm Ketsana, more known as "Ondoy".

Tropical Depression Eighteen is seen with the maximum winds of 35 mph, gusts of 65 mph and movements to NW at 16 mph. And, Tropical Storm Parma with maximum winds of 50 mph, gusts of 45 mph, movements to SWS at 12 mph.

What's even more threatening is the prediction of the huge possibility that the Eighteen and Parma would hit RP and would hit RP hard the same day, which could be sometime late this week.

It is also forecasted there will be thunderstorm and rains beginning Wednesday and more of rains on Sunday till Monday, October 5th.

Based on the five day forecast of Weather Underground (www.wundergound.com), precipitation (raining) starts at 50% on Wednesday, and so with Thursday and Friday. Then decreases on Saturday at 40% but, is expected to accelerates at 70% on Sunday, which can trigger more floods.

Even PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) confirmed that there is a low pressure area seen over the Pacific.

"Since it is still far out into the ocean, it is entirely possible that it could develop into a typhoon," PAGASA Director Prisco Nilo disclosed before the Associated Press during the briefing at the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC).

Meanwhile, the NDCC reported storm Ketsana have caused damage close to P5.B; P3.17 billion to agriculture and P1.52B to infrastructure.

To date, fatalities reached 246; 105 in Region IV-A (Calabarzon); 101 in NCR (National Capital Region); 37 in Region III (Central Luzon) and 3 in CAR (Cordillera Administrative Region). 37 Missing people and 5 got hurt. Ondoy also displaced 334,959 families and 1,939,729 individuals.
