Brian Kelly to Notre Dame

Now that Notre Dame has found their man it is time for the Cincinatti coaching parade to begin. Notice the sarcasm. Minutes after Notre Dame fired Coach Weis there were 2,456 short lists published on blogs and sports sites regarding the next Notre Dame coach. Right now there is only one shortlist regarding the hiring of the next Cincinatti coach and that list belongs to the Cincinatti Athletic Director. The group of people who hired Coach Kelly must feel good about the fact that they did so well hiring a coach that the most storied college football program ever wanted to scoop him up after his brief tenure at Cincinatti. Cincinatti is now at a critical junction in their program. They have to figure out a way to hire a solid football coach with their best pitch being the fact that they just completed the most remarkable season in the history of their program and yet they were still miles away from being in the national championship game. This coach is then going to have to go out and recruit players who thought they would be playing for Coach Kelly while also dealing with the fact that these same players just watched the Gators swamp Cincinatti by three touchdowns in their BCS bowl game.
