A beach wedding is often more casual than a traditional wedding. Many brides love a beach wedding because it is intimate and romantic. Having a beach wedding can also save the couple a lot of money. Attire, decorations and favors are simpler. A bride's hairdo is more relaxed and her hair accessories are understated. The casual atmosphere allows the bride and groom to enjoy and embrace their wedding day without the stress that can come from putting on a large, traditional wedding. A beach wedding can have all the excitement of a traditional wedding. Choose the right bridal accessories for this day.
Bridal Hair Accessories
A bride having a beach wedding can wear a ring of flowers on her head, or make a specially designed comb for her hair. To make a special bridal hair comb, glue a few seashells and mini flowers across the top part of the comb. If choosing to make a ring of flowers for the bridal hairpiece, glue some mini seashells throughout the flowers. Wrap a piece of tulle around the back of floral halo, then tie the tulle into a large bow. Both options are great hair accessory choices for a romantic bridal beach hairstyle.
Wedding Shoes
Have both the bride and her bridesmaids wear comfortable flip flops for the wedding shoes. Personalize the flip flops with each girl's name. The name can be written on the flip flop with a permanent marker or professionally printed. Another option is to wear a barefoot bridal sandal, or wear a toe ring with an ankle bracelet.
Jewelry
Jewelry should be casual for a beach wedding. A simple string of pearls, or a necklace with a crystal embellished starfish with matching earrings would be a great choice for the bridal jewelry. If the bride doesn't want to wear a necklace, she could wear a stunning starfish or sand dollar pin that is embellished with rhinestones. A bride could also purchase a beach-themed charm and slide it onto a piece of leather that can be tied around her neck.
Bridal Bouquet
A single flower like a beautiful, elegant lily is the perfect choice for a beach wedding bouquet. Tie a piece of tulle or lace around the stem. Another fun, non-traditional bouquet idea is a fireside basket with daisies lying across the inside of the basket. Tie a long raffia bow around the handle of the basket. The bride will carry this basket with her as she walks down the beach to unite with her husband-to-be.
Wedding Favor
Wedding favors for a beach wedding can be fun and whimsical. Make tags with the names of the bride and groom printed on them. At the corner of each tag make a hole with a paper punch. Use raffia to tie these tags around mini bottles of suntan lotion.
Wedding Centerpieces
You can make inexpensive beach wedding centerpieces using wicker paper plate holders. Put the wicker paper plate holder right side up on each wedding table. Place a candle in the center of each holder. Fill the paper plate holder with sand. Sporadically place seashells and any beach-related items on the sand and around the candle.
Garter
Glue a few mini seashells or starfishes to the center of the garter. The throwaway garter can also be decorated in a beach theme. If you can't find mini seashells, place a small seashell or starfish pin on the center, front of each wedding garter.
