Bridal Shower: Best Fall Theme Ideas

Kristen May
With fall weddings becoming increasingly common as a way to save some money on wedding site reservations and avoid the summer wedding rush, many friends of the bride are finding themselves in charge of hosting fall bridal showers. There are a number of themes that work very well in the fall, and will make for fun bridal shower invitations, decorations, and party favors.

Bridal Shower Fall Theme: Everything You Need For Thanksgiving

As soon as a woman gets married, her home becomes fair game for rotation in the family's Thanksgiving location. However, it takes a lot of items to serve a proper Thanksgiving dinner, and the bride is not likely to have them all in her kitchen.

For this Thanksgiving-themed bridal shower, decorate with fall colors and harvest items, especially things like pumpkins and squash. Your invitations can be in the same color palette and design, and you should tell guests to bring an item the bride can use on Thanksgiving. Some gift ideas are a roasting rack, meat thermometer, serving platter, serving bowls, potato masher, gravy bowl and spoon, sets of tableware and flatware, placemats, cloth napkins, and more.

Bridal Shower Fall Theme: Cozy Bedroom and Bathroom

Especially if the bride is going to live in a place that has cold winters, fall is a time when you think about getting nice and cozy for the chill of the winter months. One area of the house in which this is especially relevant is the bedroom and bathroom.

A cozy bedroom bridal shower can be decorated by draping all sorts of throw blankets and pillows around, and guests should be invited to come in cozy clothing. Also, have them bring gifts for the bride that will help her to stay cozy during her first married winter. Bedding is a must, from flannel sheets to a nice down comforter and duvet cover. She will also enjoy having bedroom slippers, a nice luxurious bath robe, soft fluffy bath towels, and a warm bath mat to step out onto after her showers.

Bridal Shower Fall Theme: Soups and Casseroles

Fall and winter, for any bride who enjoys cooking, means lots of hot meals like soups and casseroles. This bridal shower focuses on getting the bride things that will help her to make soups and casseroles for the fall and winter months.

Cookbooks are a must for the gift list, and one good idea is to make a compilation of recipes from all the attendees. Have them bring one or two of their favorite soups and casseroles, so the bride will be well supplied with ideas. You can also suggest buying cookbooks that focus on soups and casseroles. In addition, get kitchen items such as casserole dishes, stock pots, a ladle, bowls, and maybe even a food processor to help with making vegetable soups!
