Bridal Shower Ideas: Best Activities to Get to Know the Groom

If many of the bride's friends do not know the groom because he is somebody she met while she was off at college, or even overseas, the bridal shower is a key time for them to find out a little bit more about the groom. Here are some fun activities that can be done at any bridal shower to help the guests find out what the groom is like.

Bridal Shower Activity: Groom's Childhood Photos "Name that Age"

A fun activity that will bring out all sorts of stories about the groom's background is to play a game where guests have to guess how old he was in each of a series of childhood photos. Of course, to play this, you will need to get a series of photos of the groom at different ages, ranging from infant all the way through present day. They should picture him in a variety of settings and situations common to those times, and the organizer should know how old he was in each photo.

Have these photos numbered and displayed throughout the bridal shower area, and give each guest a numbered sheet of paper. Then give them a few minutes to walk around the area and look at the photos, writing down how old they think he was in each photo. The bride can do this as well!

When everybody is done, then the organizer can go through the photos one by one and reveal the answer. If she wants, she can also read a little bit that the groom told her about what was going on in the photo or what he was like at that age.

Bridal Shower Activity: Groom Quiz Game

Another good activity for a bridal shower that will help guests get to know the groom is to participate in a quiz game about him. It can be done in a variety of ways, but for all of them, the organizer needs to have a series of questions she has asked the groom to get answers.

One way to play the groom quiz game that lets everybody participate is to just type up the quiz and hand it out, letting each guest fill in answers or circle multiple choice answers, and then going over the quiz with a prize to whoever got the most right.

A more exciting way to play the bridal shower groom quiz game is to do it like a game show, with 3-4 contestants in the front. Pose a question to them, and have them write their answers on a piece of paper. Then have them all reveal their answers, and whoever got it wrong has to go to the end of the line, and those at the front of the line come up to fill in the seats. Play until you have a clear champion.
