Bridal Shower Recipe

Deviled Eggs

Shirley Billingsley
Bridal showers are normally given by a friend or the brides maid. This has always been the tradition. Normally the bridal shower is not given by a family member.

Quick and easy recipes are the easiest to prepare. The bride normally has many things on mind, and the less stress at this time, the better it is for the bride-to-be.

Traditionally, cake and punch have been the main items of any bridal shower, however, times do change, and now the simplest of things like deviled eggs can be served in addition to small sandwiches, finger sandwiches, a relish or vegetable tray, chips and dip, and a punch or drink of your choice (alcohol is usually reserved for the wedding ceremony).

Deviled Eggs

12 to 14 large eggs
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 tablespoons mustard
Salt and pepper to taste

Place eggs in a saucepan with water to cover plus 1 inch.
On medium-high heat, bring the eggs to a low boil.
After 10 minutes from the time they start to boil, remove the pan from the stove and run cold water directly on the eggs for a few minutes. Add ice cubes into the water and let sit for about one minute.
Peel the eggs.

Halve the eggs lengthwise.
Remove the yolks, place them in a small bowl, and mash them with a fork.
Add mayonnaise and mustard, salt and pepper.
Mix well.
Spoon the mixture into the egg-white halves.
Sprinkle with paprika if desired.
