Bridal Shows in Memphis 2009

So, that special man has popped the question and you have accepted. You are elated and all your friends and family are looking forward to throwing the best and the most elegant of affairs to celebrate your union. Now, the frenzy begins. Planning a wedding can be hectic, however, it doesn't have to be overwhelming. The key to a successful wedding ceremony and reception is to start planning as early as possible. Have fun and realize that there aren't any concrete wedding planning rules; this is your day and it's about what YOU want. Even before a definite date is set, the bride and groom can attend a bridal show.

Bridal shows are a host of wedding vendors gathered under one roof for the sole purpose of presenting their products and services to the bride and groom. There, you will find photographers, caterers, florists, musicians, cake decorators and many other wedding professionals. Most shows will have various contests and giveaways; with vendors offering special discounts to attendees. You will be given the opportunity to see what each vendor has to offer and meet with each one and get a feel for their personalities and professionalism. Most shows will host a bridal fashion show of the latest men's formalwear, bridesmaids dresses and bridal gowns.

To get the full benefit of a wedding show, you will want to get their on time; wearing comfortable shoes cause you will be walking from booth to booth. Most vendors give away materials, so, I suggest taking a large bag or tote. Before, you go, use your computer to generate a sheet or two of labels with your name, address, email, phone number, and wedding date. These will eliminate having to write out this information for each giveaway and forms in which vendors can send you more information. If you have a wedding date, come prepared to book. Some vendors offer discounts if you book early and/or on the day of the show and make a deposit that day as well.

The Mid-South Wedding Show will sponsor a number of shows this year. The first scheduled show will be Tuesday, February 24 from 7 pm until 9 pm at the Whispering Woods Conference Center at 11200 E. There will be a show held on Sunday, August 23, from 12 pm until 4 pm at the Hilton Hotel, located at 939 Ridge Lake Blvd. in Memphis. Bridal Rhapsody Extravaganza will host their first wedding show on Sunday, April 5 from 12 pm until 4:30 pm at the Pink Palace Mansion on 3050 Central Avenue in Memphis. The next show will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 11:30 pm until 4:30 pm at the Agricenter at 7777 Walnut Grove in Memphis. Tickets are $10.00 at the door, $8.00 in advance (online).
