Brides Checklist for Wedding Preparations

The following checklist is a guide that can help you know where you should be in the planning stage.

12 Months Before the Wedding
* Set the date and time
* Reserve a location
* Reserve the date with your florist, photographer, musician etc.
* Visit appropriate clergy members.
* Establish the wedding budget

* Establish a color scheme
* Choose the wedding party

9 Months until Wedding
* Order your wedding invitations and announcements
* Pick out the bride's gown
* Shop for attendant's clothes
* Order wedding rings
* Register for china, patterns and other home gifts

4 Months Prior to Wedding
* Meet with your florist

* Address all wedding invitations/announcements

* Plan rehearsal dinner
* Arrange lodging for out-of -town guests
* Select music and meet with musical performer or disc jockey
* Order the wedding cake

6 Weeks Left
* Contact your florist to review your order
* Mail your wedding invitations
* Have final gown fitting
* Meet with the photographer, musician to update any details
* Arrange special transportation for the wedding party such as limousine service
* Select the groom's gift
* Prepare seating chart for guests
* Place announcement in local newspapers

2 Weeks before the Wedding
* Double check delivery times and locations with florists
* Obtain the marriage license
* Make name changes on official documents
* Finalize seating chart for reception guests
* Give the final guest count for the reception to the reception coordinator
* Arrange pick up of guests and attendants arriving at airports
