Brides Wear Biodegradable Maize Dress

An eco-conscious Italian designer, by name of Franco Francesca, has created a bridal gown that is entirely made of maize. Twenty-Five Kilograms of maize were used to create eight meters of fabric: that's 55 pounds of maize for 26.25 feet.

This wonder of a dress was modeled at a Forum on Agriculture near Naples. The dress has many layers of ruffles but is much less heavy than it seems to be. It could be washed in regular machines at low temperature and it does not crease, which means you can pack it into your suitcase.

The dress disintegrates after a few years, leaving nothing in the environment.

So where's the glitch? In the price, of course. The fiber used for the dress is only three years old, and is priced 10% higher than traditional material, which is why this legendary wedding dress bears the high price of 15,000 Euro.
