Bridesmaids' Dresses
A style of dress that is flattering on almost every body shape, and is also very fairy like, is the long loose gown that cinches or ties at the waist. Fairies should wear spaghetti straps (not strapless), and a gown that goes all the way or very near to the floor. An uneven hemline is ideal, because it has a flower-petal ethereal feel. When choosing the color of your fairy bridesmaids' dresses, stay in a natural color palate -- peach, rose, light yellow, lavender, and any kind of green are all possibilities.
Flower Girls' Dresses
Although it is traditional to have just one flower girl, for a fairy wedding, the more flower girls you have, the better. Flower girls are like you little fairy children, and can be dressed appropriately. Don't go for the traditional white flower girl dress-instead, choose a beautiful color to match your palate. If your bridesmaids are in green, choose a different shade of green for your flower girls. Flower girl dresses can be long like the bridesmaids, but since they are child-fairies, it is also okay for them to wear knee-length dresses. Choose a sheer fabric, with many gossamer layers.
Hairstyles
For your fairy bridesmaids and fairy flower girls, the hairstyle that will look most fairy-like is long and flowing. If you have some pull, make sure nobody gets a short hair cut before the wedding! Have their hair curled and let it hang down over their shoulders. Another option is to take a little from each side and clip it up in the back. That way it is down, but out of their faces. Don't be afraid to suggest hair extensions if you feel they are a must.
Garlands
The most important thing for your fairy bridesmaids and flower girls is the beautiful flower garland. This is a custom made halo of fresh flowers to be placed on their heads. Even if their hair is shorter, the garland will give them that natural fairy feel. These can be made by your florist to match the girls' gowns.
Your bridesmaids and flower girls will look so stunning for your fairy wedding that you will just want to cry. Be sure to thank them for all of their work and sacrifice with a lovely fairy-like gifts.
