Bridesmaids Movie Truly Awful

Philip Theibert

It's too late to save myself, but perhaps I can save you. DO NOT GO TO BRIDESMAIDS.

This is the worst movie I have seen in the past ten years. Perhaps the past 20 years. I would like to tell you about the entire movie, but I left when they had that cute vomiting scene with the bridesmaids throwing up and having diarrhea in a fancy dress shop.

Oh gosh, isn't that funny, isn't that clever. No it is disgusting and I am offended that I paid any money at all for this movie.

The movie starts with two naked people bonking each other in bed from a thousand different angles. You don't know these people, you could care less about these people and seeing, for the opening scene, their sweaty bodies in bed, is a turnoff.

But that scene represents the entire movie. It has no redeeming value at all, just like the movie.

Oh, I sat through the first part of the movie, trying to find a character I liked, maybe a clever line or two, even a funny scene. Nope -- not one. And by the time we got to the vomiting scene, I was hoping for a barf bag of my own.

Look, if you take someone to this movie and she thinks this is a great, funny movie, do us all a favor, Quickly drive your car into the river and drown her, so she will not reproduce.

Sorry this review is so short, but I have no desire to dwell on how bad Bridesmaids is and must go drink heavily to get the depressing thought out of my head, that many Americans actually liked this movie. In fact my daughter recommended it. All I can figure is that there is a secret lobotomy lab somewhere and it is taking the brains of our youth at night.

In short, bad would be a step up for Bridesmaids and any critic that liked it must really stop drinking before going to the movies.

FINALLY THE VOICE OF REASON!!! I was beginning to think I was all alone on this planet! Why is it that "so-called liberated feminist" feel that the only way they can be equal to men is by behaving exactly like the most crude, unintelligent men in society? The clips I saw were moronic, disgusting and most of all VULGAR, totally lacking in anything remotely akin to cleverness!!! I'd like to see these women attempt to write a PGmovie.I guarantee they couldn't do it! There have been so many hysterical women in the past, but one of the things that made them truly funny is that they never let go of their femininity. Think about it from Lucy, to Carol Burnett, Gracie Allen and Gilda Radner. All of these ladies hysterical, not trying to be like men, but celebrating our differences!!! Many female writers feel so subconsciously inferior to men, they feel the only way they can compete is by portraying woman puking, belching and standing at a urinal! I say "Vive la difference!"

Hey Philip, I just watched Bridesmaids last night that Netflix sent me, and I agree with you wholeheartedly. Before I saw it, all I kept hearing was how hilarious it was and how I just HAD to see it. So I was expecting a lot. I was actually shocked that so many people seemed to like this movie. So I wrote a review of my own here on this website. Maybe you could check it out sometime. Then I decided to see if anyone else wrote a review of it, and I found yours. Your review was hysterical! Thanks for the laughs. I especially liked the part about a secret lobotomy lab taking out the brains of our youth. I tend to think that too lots of times, especially when watching Judge Judy. Haha.

Darn it... I found this after I watched the movie. I will say your review is spot on, I can't comment on anything you missed because I happened to walk out on the exact same part of the movie, and I have NEVER walked out on a movie before. The only difference is it was my MOTHER who recommended this movie so I can't even blame it on problems with our youth, maybe she's getting senile?

Funny review.. I wish I'd read this before I went to the see the movie. It just wasn't funny. By the end of the movie, I couldn't stand looking at the faces of the two main characters, it was that bad. Also, I couldn't believe some idiots brought their children into this movie! What were they thinking?
