Bridge's Brickoven in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Leaves Us Longing for More

Bridge's Brickoven
Neighborhood: Central Park

We've passed by the Bridge's Brickoven restaurant several times whenever we would visit Central Park but never considered stopping. We would always go to the more "established" restaurants, such as Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse or any of the others in the vicinity. Thanks to a $25 off a $35 purchase Gift Certificate from www.restaurant.com, we decided to give them a try.

A friendly waitress greeted us as we entered the restaurant and asked if we would like an inside or an outside table. Considering it was almost 100 degrees we selected an inside table. At first we were overwhelmed by the vast menu choices. Being such a small place, I had no idea that Bridge's would offer that many choices. I did begin to wonder how we would be able to spend $35 at lunch but we put those worries to rest really quickly. Drinks were $2.00 a piece. My little one had a Sprite and my husband had an iced tea. I decided to stick to the free drink of the day, WATER. Our daughter loves fettuccine alfredo so we went ahead and ordered an adult portion for her, which was $11.00. (No, she didn't finish it but we also were looking to make the total add up to $35.)

My husband ordered the lasagna ($10) and I had the ½ hero and a bowl of soup for $6.00. I did order the stuffed mushroom appetizer that was $6.50 and we all shared the dish because we were starving. The mushrooms were good but I don't think that there were enough of them for the money. I do prefer the ones at Olive Garden and Red Lobster compared to these. (There is no seafood in the stuffed mushrooms, just some kind of breadcrumb mixture.) Our total minus the certificate ended up being a little over $12 so after tip it came to $20.00 even. We definitely will be going back. Next time, I believe we'll use the dining plan that I have previously reviewed. Bridge's Brickoven offers buy 1 entrée get 1 entrée free on the dining plan. We kept eyeing the pizzas as they went by, they looked wonderful.

Sounds like a good place to eat. I hadn't heard of Restaurant.com - I need to check that out.
