The Bridgestone West Coast Design Wedges feature a very clean and classic shaped head forged from 8620 Carbon Steel. Designed from a lot of input from their tour staff, Bridgestone created a wedge that not only looks great but plays even better! With CNC milled grooves and a tour grind sole, these wedges can not only be hit from almost any lie, but get the ball to stop out of any lie as well! Especially in deep rough around the greens! The level of accuracy and distance control from wedge to wedge was amazing!
I tested the sand wedge most in this set simply because I wanted to see how it would perform from the fairway, rough and sand. It did a fantastic job in all three spots! The sole of the club makes this the most versatile wedge I have ever hit and getting it to check up from difficult lies around the green was a piece of cake! I especially liked the way it handled tall grass and short sided shots coming into the green. From the fairway, the distance control was amazing and the ball had just the right amount of spin coming off the club face to stop within a few feet from where it landed. I especially liked that feature because I hate hitting a great shot only to have it spin back 10 feet from the spot it should have stopped! The amount of bounce was perfect as well as sand shots were very easy to hit with this club, yet there was not too much bounce that this wedge can not be played from tight fairways.
This is a great club for the better player with an imagination around the greens. Mid handicappers will like it too and the soft feel from this forged head will make you wonder why you haven't tried it sooner!
