Brief Biography of WWE's Andrew Test Martin

Andrew Test Martin, whose birth name was Andrew J. Martin, was born on March 17, 1975. Martin performed under the name Test during his tenure with World Wrestling Entertainment. In 2005, he legally had his name changed to Andrew Test Martin so he could have the rights to the name Test after leaving WWE.

Martin met Bret Hart in a restaurant at some point in the late 1990s. That was when he was first introduced to professional wrestling. He began wrestling in 1997 for a Canadian independent circuit. His ring names at the time were Martin Kane and T.J. Thunder.

In 1998, Martin made his debut in World Wrestling Federation under the ring name of Test. He soon developed an onscreen relationship with Stephanie McMahon and before long they were engaged. This relationship continued until Triple H revealed that he had drugged Stephanie and married her in a drive-thru ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shortly after that, Stephanie turned on Test and joined forces with Triple H, kicking off what was to be known as the McMahon-Helmsley era.

Test soon teamed up with Albert and they became known as T & A, a heel tag team managed by Trish Stratus. In 2001, Albert turned on Test after being given orders by Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley to attack him.

Test would then go on to feud with Perry Saturn, eventually defeating him for the European Championship on Raw is War. He later lost the title during a feud with Eddie Guerrero.

Shortly after that, Test would feud with Edge and eventually lose to him in a match for the WCW United States Championship.

In 2004, Test suffered an injury and was released from WWE.

He returned to World Wrestling Entertainment two years later on their Extreme Championship Wrestling brand. He would feud with the likes of Bobby Lashley, Big Show and CM Punk before requesting to be released from WWE again.

On August 2, 2007, Test made his debut in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling using his real name of Andrew Martin. He introduced himself to the fans as "The Punisher" Andrew Martin. He aligned himself with Sting and Abyss during a tag team ladder match against Christian Cage and A.J. Styles, who were assisted by Tomko before Martin interfered and evened the odds. Martin then announced that it would be three against three during the feud between both teams at Hard Justice.
