Bring Our Troops Home Iraq Exit Strategy

Peace with Dignity

Bring our Troops Home

Most Americans want our troops home. That is, even if we think that they are protecting our country by fighting in Iraq, we still want our troops home.

Only 5% of the 'insurgents' are Al Queda, and the other 95% are Iraqis that can be both Shiite and Sunni. So we could say, 'let them fight it out themselves, and just bring our troops home !'.

Considering that many Americans gave their lives, or at a minimum their future health it's not cutting and running to bring our troops home. We know that our losses are greater now than 4,000, and must accept that there are more than 40,000 wounded severely. Their families have also made significant sacrifices. They have lost loved ones or their lives are just on standby while waiting for news.

The Smoke and Mirrors of Further Costs

The Republicans have a point that in some so called phased withdrawal would make remaining US forces easier targets. The Democrats have a point that there should be a time line for withdrawal. The Republicans have a point 'if and only if' the Shiites and Sunnis are shooting at US troops. The Democrats could have a valid position that is, 'if and only if' we have a real plan for Iraq. The Democrats alternative is just leaving Iraq in the state of civil war.

So as far as the Democrats are concerned, they appear to be doing nothing more than just going through the political motions, where Bush can veto them. This is unacceptable in my opinion of how the American Government is to serve the people cost effectively.

Being compromised financially to foreign lenders such as China to finance Iraq's occupation, also puts us in a weak position if they decide to address such a global tyrant. We loose any capital in foreign policy proportionally to how much of a tyrant we are. Domestically, our economy will grind to a halt. We are then broke !

Our Pride As Americans

Our troops deserve their pride and dignity as Americans. There is no real healing that can take place without one's dignity in tact.

We deserve our strategic pride as Americans, where we have not in good conscious gone out and destroyed lives in other parts of the world. Other wise, we have to ask ourselves 'what makes us better than any other global tyrant'? 700,000 Iraqis lost their lives too !

Regardless of the Bush administration being responsible for the Iraq mess, we as Americans are just as responsible. A president that takes office in 2008 cannot just say, "I didn't do that, it?s not my fault, so we are just exiting Iraq". It is also easy to give fuzzy promises as an Election 2008 candidate, but later say that "there were mitigating circumstances where the time is just not right yet".

What is most important that as Americans, we have been raised with a conscious of what makes Americans very special. We want to pride ourselves as being the kindest nation. To be Americans we are also accustomed to a very most powerful and undauntable pride. And this is for good reason. Americans no matter what race, creed, color, religion, or followings and beliefs, are over all, decent, fair and moral minded people.

Thats why there is the proposed Peace with Dignity plan for our Iraq Exit Strategy

The men and women of the military have done a remarkable job (needlees to say). Unfortunately the middle east is truely one messed up part of the world. Some things that are culturally acceptable there are nothing short of barbarism in western society. With that said a proactive and final solution to future dealing with the middle east would be a nuclear one. It's only a matter of years, perhaps a decade or two at most until these countries achieve a nuclear capability on their own. I guarantee they won't consider women/children/civilians when they attack us at home again. One American soldier's life is worth more than the entire middle east is.

SUCCESSFUL EXIT STRATEGY - KILL THE BASTARDS THEN COME HOME. Easy, simple, successful.

Oh come on now Jaime K Wilson. If this person can't bother to edit her writing and clean up the mistakes, how can you believe they'll want to pay that kind of attention to the actual facts?

How many soldiers have you asked the opinion of? The ones I know, including my brother, want to be there. Most of the young men I hear from coming back with hands and feet missing want to stay in the service, and many have sacrificed to go back to the front line. I think the "dignity" you're offering them might meet with rejection. In addition, you might want to recheck your facts. I'm not sure on the Al Qaeda figure, but I do know that only 80% of the insurgents are Iraqi; the others are from elsewhere, including Iran, which stands to gain the most if Iraq falls apart -- and even more if Afghanistan dominoes in response. If that happens, we'll probably have to go back, and it will be much worse for everyone. It's not as simple as just leaving.
