I find myself haunted. I can't shut her out, the ghost of Rose. I see Death every day, souls in torment, and I was supposed to save them. But are they asking me to let them go, let their spirit rest, and will she ever forgive me for letting her die?
My veins are on fire, adrenaline rush, and the night is wild. And the calls keep on coming in, telling me to save them, but so many lost souls walk these streets. And I walk with them, trying to understand how I got here.
And under the cloak of Death does a heart find another, two lost souls pulled together. Pieces of life unraveling start to be weaved together, and the light of hope begins to flicker. And maybe love won't be impossible no more but save two lives no longer lost.
Once golden from saving lives, Frank Pierce is a paramedic falling deep into darkness. The burden of one death haunts him, and no lives can be saved as he becomes a lost soul. But the calls keep on coming in, and the city cries out to him. And as he struggles to help those in need, stress digs in deep, threatening to tear him apart, but through Death will he find salvation, love to shower him in light again?
Bringing Out The Dead takes us through the darkness that we dare not see, for in the late hours of the night do the lost souls walk these streets. And paramedics race to save lives and to deny Death its bounty, but how far will their sanity be tested before layers of foundation begin to crack? And for all the lives that cannot be saved, will their souls be at rest, or will the men that could not save them remain haunted every time they close their eyes or look upon another face? Nicolas Cage delivers a powerful performance as Frank Pierce, whose life envelopes us in his struggle to escape the madness settling in, and through a brilliantly delivered story are we captivated with a tale that touches on the depth of life and the touch of death.
But what makes this movie a true cinematic masterpiece is not only the heart and soul that made it what it was, but it was also the illustration that brought our eye to life and death. In darkness, life wavers over the edge and is ready to fall, and sparks drift out into the night. Flashing lights cover the city, and white light surrounds one struggling to be lost no longer. And horror stories of the ER meet our gaze, and we can't break away. Instead, we are entranced by the beauty and conflict of life and death.
