Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston Welcome New Baby Boy, Tripp!

Kerry Mulherin
Bristol Palin, Sarah Palin's 18 year old daughter, has given birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Bristol, and Levi Johnston, the baby's Father, have named their newborn son Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.

According to Associated Press, (2008) "The governor's office said it would not release information because it considers the baby's birth a private family matter." (para. 2).

I find it particularly amusing that searchers have taken so little notice, that Google Trends have Bristol and Levi's birth announcement listed earlier tonight at number 62 - without the bullet! After the shamozzle just several weeks ago when Bristol and Levi Johnston's pregnancy was announced to the public, one would imagine that this would have made, and stayed, at number one on the list of "OMG" headlines for the day. This is a true sign of how much the searching public wishes to poke their noses into other people's business. Could it be that the gutter journalists themselves pushed these headlines to number one in the first instance? Probably.

Suffice it to say, Bristol, baby Tripp, and Daddy Levi are apparently all doing well. I suppose the next mega Palin headline will focus on the fact that Bristol and Levi were not married before the birth of their child, and this will become important to everyone only if, or when, Sarah Palin announces her intentions to run for office; perhaps in the next Presidential election?

I hold the same opinion as I did when I wrote my first article on this subject back in September of 2008, during the chaos which ultimately overshadowed the Republican National Convention; "Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston: Voter's Concern or Mind Your Own Business?"

Now that I think about it, Sarah herself has disappeared from the media spotlight of late too, except for her odd, yes odd, appearance on Saturday Night Live. One could be confused as to whether recent appearances were indeed Sarah, or the antics funny gal Tina Fey, whose portrayal of Palin leaves most people wondering if she was the real deal. I must admit, I find it hard to tell the difference.

I wonder what could possibly be next for the Palin clan. After the pre-election circus of 2008, nothing could be as dramatic, but hold that thought, some cheap publication in need of subscribers is sure to make something up sooner or later.

Congratulations Bristol and Levi, and welcome to baby Tripp!

I agree with Tina. I do respect teens who make the choice for life. Best wishes to the new family.

Well congrats to them! I respect their decision to carry the baby to term. They could have taken the easy way out but didn't.

Nicely Written :) I don't see a major issue with unwed parents. I'm young and I have friends who are unwed with children and the children are always number one and the relationships between the parents is stronger than ever.

There's just entirely too many unwed parents. I really disagree with this trend.

I really like Sarah Palin! Thanks for reporting this. I'm glad they all seem healthy; now let's hope that Bristol and the baby can fade into an anonymous life ...

Baby born, both parents dropped out of school, and no wedding in sight? A condom would have been so muc simpler.

Great article. I don't know why the media has to focus in on their private lives. How would they like it?
