Bristol Palin May Find Some Redemption in Dancing with the Stars Stint

According to a report by E! Online, teen mother Bristol Palin will become the latest member of Dancing with the Stars Season 11 cast. Of course, keep in mind that ABC will not confirm officially who is on the list of cast members until August 30 during an episode of the Bachelor Pad from 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm ET.

Palin would follow in the steps of Melissa Rycroft who joined the DWTS Season 10 cast last March when Nancy O'Dell of Access Hollywood had to withdraw due to a knee injury during a rehearsal.

Rycroft's claim to fame was when she was proposed to on the Bachelor by Jason Mesnick, who abruptly did a 180 and jilted her for Molly Malaney whom he married in February of this year. Mesnick, sans good manners and common sense, did this on live television instantly creating enemies for himself and staunch defenders and supporters for Rycroft.

In Bristol Palin's case, her on-again, off-again baby daddy Levi Johnston actually did what Jason did to Melissa. That is, he proposed to Bristol after taking what looked like a permanent hiatus from the Palin family, went so far as to pose on Us Weekly and be interviewed, and then turned around and well, split.

Levi left for California on the evening of the same day the Us Weekly interview took place and co-starred in a video with R&B singer Brittani Senser about two lovers who find the woman's meddling mom has driven them apart, (basically mocking Sarah Palin).

On that same day before leaving Bristol, Levi told her that he may have impregnated his ex-girlfriend, Lanesia Garcia.

Days later Palin told People Magazine she was done with Johnston and that his need for the limelight and the fact that he mocked her mother in a music video drove them apart.

But just like in a fairy tale, Dancing With The Stars comes along and sweeps Bristol Palin off her feet, offering her a spot on Season 11 and a little pocket change on top.
