Britain's Got Talent 2009 - Watch Full Episodes Online in the USA

Don't Settle for Video Clips - Watch BGT 2009 Full Episodes Online!

Sophie Stillwell
If you live in the USA and have been charmed by the season highlights of Britain's Got Talent 2009, you aren't alone. Internet visitors all over the world are enthralled with the vocal talents of Susan Boyle. Stavros Flatley, Julian Smith, and Shaheen Jafargholi have also captured the attention of people worldwide. Many of us who don't live in the UK want to follow Britain's Got Talent 2009 and see the full BGT 2009 episodes to enjoy all the sensations and strike-outs, but according to the ITV website (ITV is the broadcast station showing Britain's Got Talent 2009 in the UK), anyone outside of the United Kingdom will be unable to view the full episodes via their online video player. Why??

According to the ITV website, it is because "we [ITV] do not hold international rights to all of our programming so video content is supplied only to users with IP addresses in the UK." Does this mean international viewers, including those of us in the United States of America, are reduced to scouring youtube.com for as many clips as possible? While that is one option for USA viewers who wish to see Britain's Got Talent 2009, it isn't the only one. There is one place I've found so far that offers USA viewers full episodes so we can watch Britain's Got Talent 2009 online.

You can find the website here, but read further for viewing instructions before going to the CastTV website.

There are two ways you can watch Britain's Got Talent 2009 full episodes on the CastTV website. If you click the red button in the center of the video console after it turns green, you will first be redirected to sign up on the site. If you prefer not to sign up, simply click the back button on your browser and click the start button again. The full episode of Britain's Got Talent 2009 should start for you this time, regardless of whether you've signed up or not.

Another option is to click on the very small "view at source" button. The button is located underneath the video console, on the right side. It is gray button underneath a bright yellow button labeled "FREE", which makes it easy to miss. This button will open another screen on the MegaVideo website, which has an identical video console with a start button in the center. When that button turns green, click on it and you'll be watching episode 1 of Britain's Got Talent 2009 online.

There is a limit to the amount of free video you can watch of videos contributed to CastTV from other websites. You may need to purchase a membership from the contributing site to see all the episodes.

As of the published date of this article, the CastTV website has both BGT2009 Ep1 & BGT2009 Ep2 (Episode 1 & Episode 2) of Britain's Got Talent 2009 available to watch online. Hopefully more episodes will appear in the future, particularly when Susan Boyle makes her next appearance. Cross your fingers, and enjoy the show!

Well Britain's got MORE talent is just as great as BGT. There is a user on youtube who uploads the full episodes the same day
http://www.youtube.com/user/mharie12345 it's in parts, yes, but you are not limited to 72 minutes like megaupload (where castTv links the video from)

... (sorry, don't know how else to address you! lol) I've had the same message show up incorrectly for me (meaning, I know I haven't watched 72 minutes of anything), too. The only fix I've tried that works is unplugging my modem after the video has fully loaded and watching it that way. Otherwise, I just take a break and come back to watch the rest later. If the systems works properly AND you haven't yet watched any vids on the site yet, you should be able to see the entire program. Let me know if that modem idea works for you, and I'll include it in my article as a work-around.

switiey - Ok, I finally see the issue - I hadn't had a chance to view Ep 3 on the site yet and now that I have, you are correct - THAT ep is BGMT. I looked for a reporting link to let the site know it is misclassified, but couldn't find one. What I suggest is waiting a few days and checking to see if additional copies have been loaded - you'll notice in the lower corner it will sometimes say "copy 1 copy 2 etc".

However, ep 1 and ep 2 are both the original Britain's Got Talent - so hopefully that mix-up on Ep 3 will be corrected soon!!

It doesn't ask me to sign up when i click in the red button, it plays the full episode automatically; however after 72 minutes it says '' you've watched 72 minutes of video today'' and then I have to wait like 50 minutes to watch the rest of the episode... -.-' if i don't want to wait, I have to sign up >.> there's something i can do to watch the entire episode without having to wait 50 min at the very end?
    Thank you :)

When i click on the link ''here'', it goes to the site, but it's definitely britain's got More talent.. :( i checked all over the internet, and i just can't find it!

    (thanks anyway for the link!)

  • Sophie Stillwell4/26/2009

switiey - I'm not sure which link you used - the one in resources? Because I just double checked and it is DEFINITELY Britain's Got Talent, not the follow up show, Britain's Got More talent. Did you check the entire episode list? (scroll down a bit to see it). I hope that helps, and I'm not sure what went wrong for you!

  • switiey4/26/2009

Thanks, only that is britain's got MORE talent, and not the actual episode, you know where i can find that one?
