Britain's Got Talent - Will This Be Simon Cowell's Last as BGT Judge?

Is Simon Cowell Leaving Britain's Got Talent

Carole Anne Somerville
As another series of Britain's Got Talent begins, it has been reported that Simon Cowell is thinking of retiring. All the travelling combined with sitting through endless auditions appears to be taken its toll and it seems like, understandably, Simon's looking for a less stressful and more relaxing lifestyle.

Simon Cowell, born in Brighton, England, first appeared on TV on the UK series Sale of the Century but it is talent shows for which he is now famous. For almost a decade now, Simon has been as scrutinised by viewers, audience and the media for his biting comments and scornful attitude as he has scrutinised and auditioned wannabe Stars. He became a judge on the first series of Pop Idol in 2001 and quickly following this, American Idol in 2002. From this Simon went on to judge Britain's Got Talent, X Factor and others.

Simon sets himself high standards and is totally devoted to whatever he takes on but everyone has their limits and it looks as if he is starting to admit to having reached his. He has admitted to reaching a point where his brain is overloaded with having too much to deal with, too many people to see and not leaving the office until the early hours in the morning, accepting that "you just have enough and it's just too much information."

Despite his incredible drive and stamina, like the rest of us, Simon Cowell is only human too and it may be that after this series he will put in an appearance in Britain's Got Talent without spending as much time being involved with the earlier auditions. He realises he is not irreplaceable and the show could probably continue without him as centre stage.

Now the trial stage is over, thousands of wannabes have been auditioned and Britain's Got Talent, the show that made a star of Susan Boyle last year kicks off again this evening.

Perhaps this wil be the last BGT with Simon Cowell as a judge but who will replace him? According to the gossip, Jordan, a.k.a. Katie is not an impossibility!

I think I could stand to be a bit bored for what Simon rakes in... but I don't begrudge him wanting a change. He's like King Midas, whatever he touches turns to gold!

I cannot imagine anyone watching BGT if Katie Price is on it! Amanda Holden is quite annoying enough, Katie Price would be unbearable! *lol*
