"I Dreamed a Dream"

Dreams came true for Susan Boyle, as she stepped onto the world's stage at "Britain's Got Talent". "I've always wanted to play before a large audience," Susan as she prepared to go onto the stage. "I'm going to make that audience watch." This jovial confident 47 year-old woman strode onto the limelight amongst snickers, as she expressed her desire for wanting to have a professional singing career. Looks of disdain could be seen on the judges and audiences' faces alike as Susan prepared to sing. She chose, "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables. The words seem remarkably suited for this woman.

"There was a time when men were kind..."

Prior to sing, Simon Cowell, questioned her about her dream. But during the initial questioning, Simon was anything but kind. In response to one of his questions, she stated she wanted to be as successful as Elaine Page. Simon rolled his eyes and puffed out his cheeks. The other judges looked incredulous. Upon announcing her choice in song, the judges appeared more bemused. The camera panned the audience and smirks and sneers were evident on the faces of the crowd. It was evident the crowd and judges expected her to fail.

Susan Boyle could have easily have been the one to have been sneering at the crowd instead of visa versa. When Boyle opened her mouth to sing, the world dropped its jaw at of the richness of her undiscovered musical talent. Her crystal clear voice brought the audience to their feet and some to tears. Simon Cowell had an expression of rapture on his face as the performance continued. .Co-judge Piers Morgan stated, "Without a doubt that is the biggest surprise I've had in three years of the show. When you stood there with that cheeky grin and said I want to be like Elaine Page everyone was laughing at you, no one is laughing now."

Susan Boyle received perfect scores from the judges. She is favored to win the competition of "Britain's Got Talent."

"I had a dream my life would be different so different from this hell..."

In comments to reporters since her audition, Susan Boyle stated that when she was young others would poke fun at her due to a disability and her curly hair. Although Susan did not describe her life as hell, as the lyrics of "I Dreamed a Dream" does, it is highly doubtful she expected to have had to lived the hand life has dealt her. She is currently unemployed and has been caring for her mother until her recent demise. After her mother's death Susan said, "It was a very dark time and I suffered depression and anxiety. But out of the darkness came light. I realized I wanted to make her proud of me and the only way to do that was to take the risk and enter the show...I knew this was something I had to do".

I think everyone there got a good lesson on not judging the book by it's cover. All I could do while I watched her performance was smile. Not one single missed note. Then she sang accapella on CNN. Again, not one missed note. You go girl. I have a link saved. It's good inspiration.

I don't believe that the judges didn't already know she was on track to win or place in Britain's sow. All that face making was nothing but a big show!
