British "Bachelor" Matt Grant Chooses Shayne Dahl Lamas as His Fiance

Matt Felt the Journey with Chelsea Wanstrath was Just Too Tough

Last night, the ever-so-charming British Bachelor, Matt Grant, had to choose between two women - actress Shayne Dahl Lamas (of the Lamas acting family) or pharmaceutical saleswoman Chelsea Wanstrath. Personally, I didn't really care for either one. My favorite was Amanda, the woman he seemed to have a connection with the minute she stepped out of the limo, but he sent her home two weeks ago. In the case of last night, I had hoped Matt would choose the woman that I didn't loathe as much, which was Chelsea.

Matt took both girls to London to meet his family. His brother Simon liked Chelsea better; however Matt's parents like Shayne better (although they were taken aback by her youth at first). When the family discussed it, Matt said he felt more at ease with Shayne, but more passion with Chelsea. Tough choice, dude.

After meeting Matt's parents in London, all three set off for Barbados. I think the producers saw an attraction between Matt and "monkey" as he called Shayne and played up his relationship with Chelsea to keep us on our toes. After all, the two really seemed to connect in Barbados - finally! It seemed Matt couldn't keep his lips off Chelsea as the two said goodbye. He and Shayne had what appeared to be a more distant date parasailing.

Both women looked beautiful for the final rose ceremony, but I thought Chelsea was simply stunning in her white Grecian dress. However, once there, he told her it was a long hard journey to connect and she wasn't the one. She felt stupid for having opened up to him and said she felt Shayne was the "falsest" woman on the show. In the limo, she said he was a fool.

Once Shayne came out, Matt spoke for a minute, and then dropped to his knees to propose. She seemed genuinely surprised, but then again, she is an actress. In my personal opinion, this relationship has the shelf life of a carton of eggs. Do I think it will last? No way. Shayne is way too immature and even her own dad accused her of coming on the show to further her career. This is the second season in a row that I myself have fallen for the bachelor, only to see a totally different, not so charming man at the finale. If Matt can fall so easily for a girl like Shayne (who spent much of the show whining about sharing him with other women), it makes you wonder about his character.

I agree shayne is a fake and fonny as chelsea said.Chelesa did look stunning and elagent and classy.I thought Amanda was a doll baby.soclassy and a true lady with class. She is so true, honest, sincere and far from a phonny. She will truely make a wonerful wife for a man that truely appreciates a wonderful woman. She hhas respect for people and I am glad she told matt what she thought he deserved it but I am glad he let her go when he did because at the end it would of been worse for her to handle the let down.He did get even with chelesa for her behavior towards him. What you give is what you get in return.Amanda will find the man of her dreams and she does not have to regret any moment or anything she did not say or act to matt. You were Genuine, and the stunt you gave to him was so funny I loved it.

It's a new British invasion. Yes, I know the new British invasion was in the 80's with New Romantic music, not to mention Holly and Scorpio on General Hospital (well Scorpio was an Auzzie, but who's counting, except Australians reading this, I am sure...).

But it seems to me that Shayne Dahl Lamas is part of the new British-Irish Invasion (I include Irish so as to mention the one on American Idol this year...). What with a Brit on The Apprentice, and Higgins on Magnum (fake Brit, but you get the point), well, that's really what I want to say:

Shayne Dahl Lamas is the Higgins of the 21st century.

Not bad for someone who doesn't watch TV...

I didn't watch the show, but Ellen DeGeneres was predicting for a long time that he would choose Shayne. Guess she was right.
