And it seems in the never ending struggle for space in our craniums to make up for the bigger fear area of our clearly inferior brains, we have smaller areas devoted to "courage and looking on the bright side of life." I find this odd in the extreme.
Who is it who are always lamenting ""X" is sooooo bad we just gotta do something?" That is optimism? That sounds more like fear than optimism. Sounds like whining to me. Typically, who could have imagined lefties failed to conclude their incessant whining as a potential flaw and instead find it "courage and looking on the bright side of life." BS!
For the kicker the study revealed a few flaws in its scientific methods and therefore its credentials - they only tested 93 people. Three of them were politicians and the other 90 were students. A rather small sampling to come up with such a conclusion, no? I mean when we look for the genetic origin of the run of the mill house cat we find a University of California at Davis study tested hundreds and hundreds of felines worldwide. So a study about cats is better vetted than is one that concludes conservatives are mentally deficient.
Isn't this reminiscent of global warming conclusions based on a few weather stations and some non-scientific anecdotal conclusions that "the glacier was bigger last year?" So people who cannot conduct science any better than this should provide us health care? We should trust them with the nuclear codes? Hell, we shouldn't trust them with the keys to an electric car. Their decision making abilities are severely in question here. Lemme see . . . . here are some of the conclusions the left has reached lately:
Global warming is a "consensus" they assured us. What consensus, might I ask? The consensus of bitterly cold winters? Record snowfalls year in and year out? None of those killer hurricanes that were supposed to follow on Katrina's wake and drown us all? The UK and Northern Europe having its worst winter in 100 years? That consensus?
The consensus that Keynesian economics are superior? Empirical evidence never has and never will support that pipe dream, but damn these brilliant peeps see fit to tell us the evidence of capitalism being an inferior system is a foregone conclusion. Odd in that there is no evidence of that contention either. But there is voluminous evidence that capitalism delivers more prosperity over a larger area than any previous system of economy in world history. That consensus?
Saving the best for last, my source article concludes with some juicy tidbits. Tidbit number one is that "the study was commissioned by actor Collin Firth in a "light-hearted" attempt to discredit conservatives, and it has yet to be peer-reviewed." Firth explains "I took this on as a fairly frivolous exercise: I just decided to find out what was biologically wrong with people who don't agree with me and see what scientists had to say about it and they actually came up with something."
So an actor making a joke is sufficient to do a flawed survey sampling a handful of people and then reaching such a wonderful conclusion. Such a warm, fuzzy and inclusive conclusion at that!
I think based entirely upon my own scientific work and a plethora of anecdotal evidence I can safely conclude some people have a problem with their transmissions, whereby their mouths are in drive and their brains are in neutral. Read the original London Telegraph article here.

Post a CommentI don't think they have a brain disorder. I just think they're selfish.
If the author of the above article weren't semi-literate, the alleged research would have more credibility.
hahahaha sorry I found this hysterical
This makes me want to throw up.
Fortunately, Science has the answer to this! There is a very simple surgical operation which will cure you of your inconvenient, anti-social, deplorable Conservative predispositions! People who receive this are cured of all pathological fears and are happy all the day!
You obviously didn't read MY article - I have Big Brains :) LOL cheers !!!
I thought I just read last week or maybe the week before that they discover the vgene that causes liberals to be the way they are.
OH MY GOD!! Is that what is wrong with me? Hurry! Someone come up with a pill for me to take...I'm scared to death! ;)
As you say, leave it to the Brits.
Definitely a skewed sample. 90 STUDENTS? What do you think they would find? Academia is an incubator for the Left.
