Britney Spears' Curious: Affordable Scent for Young Women

Patty Oh
Britney Spears' perfume Curious was released in 2004. Designed to be a tribute to her home state of Louisiana, it has the sweet smell of magnolias, jasmines, land lotus blossom, with a pear and vanilla accent.

It's a great fragrance for casual wear for young women, and purports to have a sexy flare to it. Keeping with its target audience, Curious is available in many different scents.

You can get the Britney Spears' Curious perfumed shimmer stick, or in an eau de parfum spray in either 3.3 ounce, 1 ounce or 1.7 ounce sizes.

In addition to the fragrances, Britney Spears' Curious is also offered as bath and body products. There are the Curious Britney Spears shower gel, body soufflé (a cream), body polish (a cream), or shimmer powder (a dusting powder) to choose from.

Where to find Curious
Some retailers, including Wal-Mart, are offering a nice 4 piece set of this fragrance for only $30. This set includes the 1.0 ounce eau de parfum spray, the body souffle, the shower gel, and a small replica bottle of the parfum.

Many different locations carry this perfume with Britney Spears name, from online stores to regular retailers. Online cosmetic specialty retailer Sephora sells a few of Britney Spears products. Elizabeth Arden's online store carries the largest selection online, and Amazon.com lists many online stores that sell products from the Britney Spears' Curious fragrance line.

The price differences are substantial. Some stores are almost half of others. The question is, are you getting the real product or an imitation? When in doubt, stick with a store name whose reputation you can trust.

Among the regular retailers who carry the Britney Spears Curious fragrance include Walgreens, Wal-Mart, and Target.

The range of Curious products and approximate prices
These prices are on the high end; most retailers will be selling Britney Spears Curious at prices much lower than this. The Eau de Parfum 3.3 ounce spray comes in a beautiful azure blue atomizer. The atomizer itself is stunning to look at and reasonably priced at about $50. The smaller, 1.7 ounce spray comes in the same beautiful azure bottle, but without the atomizer. It's priced at about $45.

The "Whipped! Body Soufflé" is a cream that delivers the fragrance all day long. It's priced around $ 25. The "You're So Smooth!" Body Polish cream leaves the soft scent of Curious on the body, priced at about $20.

For those who want to shimmer, the Britney Spears' "Write On!" Perfumed Shimmer Stick does the trick. It's priced at about $20.

Ask any woman and she'll tell you that the best way to have a fragrance last all day is to layer it, beginning with a shower gel. Britney Spears Curious "Lather Me Up!" shower gel is available for about $20.

Online cosmetic specialty retailer Sephora, offers the product, "Two Tempting!" This is a combination of two products in one. One end is a pink shimmer lip gloss, and the other end contains the Britney Spears roll-on fragrance, Curious.

Britney Spears Curious and other fragrance lines were developed in conjunction with Elizabeth Arden.

I saw some Britney products like this when I was Christmas shopping and couldn't even bring myself to look at them. Because she is a horrible role model, I wouldn't want my girls to own any product she is involved with. Would much rather support products purveyed by healthy and wholesome individuals.

By the way Patty, thanks for your suggestion about writing a list of the American expressions. I may try doing this.
