Britney Spears Foils Devious Plot and Delights Sick Children in Sydney, Australia

A Sydney Childrens' Hospital Staffer's Self-interest Plot to Meet Britney was Foiled by Her Generosity to Young Cancer Survivors

Forget all the lip-sync-ing hype. This week Britney Spears has wowed audiences in Sydney with 67,000 fans attending her four Circus Tour concerts at Acer Arena . After a bumpy start to her Australian Tour, media hype about lip-sync-ing has died down and fans are obviously embracing Brit's on-stage performances. There was no adverse publicity during her Melbourne or Sydney concerts. Her Brisbane run is set to go, as well as a return performance to Melbourne and a final concert in Adelaide.

On the flipside, some people will stop at nothing to get to meet a celebrity. It has been reported that a devious worker at the Sydney Childrens' Hospital hatched a plot to get Britney to visit the hospital to meet sick kids. Apparently his motive was to gain his own fifteen minutes of fame up close and personal with the star. His plan was foiled by none other than Britney herself. She offered tickets to her show and a backstage meeting to chat with three young cancer survivors. They now have a lasting memento of the event in the form of a photo with Britney - and no doubt personal memories that will last a lifetime.

The lucky girls are sisters Jessica Sukkar, 14, and Amelia Sukkar, 10, and Sonia Tadros, also 10. The unlucky hospital staffer is yet to meet Britney. What a shame!

During her Sydney stay, Britney enjoyed a harbor cruise in Sydney, including a swim at Watson's Bay.

Britney still has 5 concert dates to fulfill in Australia.

The Brisbane schedule has a one day time-out between two of the concerts. Hopefully Britney can visit some local tourist locations with her kids on her day off.

It is great that Britney Spears has included Australia in her 2009 Circus Tour of the world. The huge number of concert-goers that have seen her shows is testament to her popularity in this country. Britney has simply gone "on with the show" despite some adverse press after her first Perth concert. She will leave many happy fans in her wake when she leaves Australia and moves on to perform her concerts in other countries.
