Britney Spears Lip-Synching Causes Concert Fans to Walk Out

Britney Spears is Hosting "Concerts" in Australia for Her 'Circus' Tour but Isn't Really Singing

Britney Spears was caught lip-synching again, and fans are not happy. The Britney Spears lip-synching took place in Australia this time, and many of those people attending the concert were not aware that she would not be singing the songs live. This raises the question of whether it should be advertised beforehand if an artist is not going to really be singing, and that they will just be dancing to a back-up track at the concert. Many Australian fans thought that they were going to a concert to see Britney Spears actually sing, and when it turned out that she was lip-synching, many of them walked out on the concert.

The story is staying in the news, because several Australian politicians are upset that it wasn't known that Britney Spears would be lip-synching at her concert. Now they are calling for laws to be put in place so that when an artist is going to be lip-synching that it is advertised ahead of time in a prominent place. They feel that if people had known ahead of time that Britney Spears would be taking the lazy approach to performing at her concert that many people would not have purchased tickets in the first place. It's not an unreasonable request either, because why would people want to spend their hard earned money knowing the product would be inferior?

The current Britney Spears tour is for her Circus concert tour, with 14 dates planned in Australia before they head out of town. It was at her first show on this leg of her tour where people became very upset with Spears, and it's really hard to blame them for feeling that way. One report found that her dancing was extremely sloppy, and that the excuse that she needs to lip-sync in order to focus more on the dancing just didn't hold water for that writer. A video depicting part of her concert performance is linked on page two to allow people to decide for themselves whether Spears was actually putting forth her best efforts during the concerts in question.

What would be so bad about legislation being passed that someone is going to lip-sync their concert? It seems like that would be truth in advertising, and that all artists should be willing to admit to it before people purchase their concert tickets. If a person is not going to purchase a ticket because they know a person is going to be lip-syncing then it stands to reason that not knowing would be someone presenting false advertising to their ticket holders. If people want to go to concerts to see pop stars move around on the stage without singing, they should at least be given the chance to know that ahead of time.

They would have to be ou of their minds if they thought she would sing live--or that she even could!lol

I bet they would leave faster if she really sang, I am sure it sucks to hear her live without a little studio magic.

I don't buy this story for one second. Nobody goes to a Britney Spears concert expecting to see her sing live. If fans are that out of touch, it's their own fault.

I totally agree. I don't pay to see a video with live actors. I pay to see the players perform -- and that includes singing.
