Britney Spears Remains Under Eval for 14 More Days

Dad Given Control of Her Assets

I sat down this afternoon to watch the news and what is the first thing I hear? Britney Spears is being held for 14 more days of mental exams!

Britney Spears, 26, was voluntarily taken to UCLA Medical Center last week in the wee hours of the morning via ambulance. She had been awake for four days straight, went on a cleaning binge, and wanted to continuously drive around town. Her psychiatrist phoned police and they set up the efforts to get Britney to the hospital safely and without a lot of media. She was placed under a 72 hour evaluation to make sure she would not cause harm to herself or others.

Earlier today the judge decided to require a court-appointed psychiatrist to evaluate Britney's ability to comprehend and understand the legal situations she is in. She has been in and out of court for some time now and her mental condition seems to be deteriorating.

In the meantime, while she is at Stewart & Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Britney's dad is in charge of her affairs. Britney did not want her dad to have control and her lawyer argued in favor of her wishes, but the court decided otherwise.

Also on Monday, a judge postponed another court date regarding her visitation rights to her two boys, Sean Preston (age 2) and Jayden James (1).

Britney's psychiatrist has to file a report on her condition by February 13.

Despite her mental and legal problems, Britney's song "Piece of Me" is staying in the top 20 in several charts including #18 on the Pop 100 and #8 on Hot Digital Songs. Today on VH1, Britney was #2 on their video play list.

I truly cannot stand this girl... Or people like her...They have all this money.. And act as if there is nothing to do with it all but drink and get high... And then everyone feels sorry for them.... I think they all need a little reality...
