Access Hollywood has confirmed that Britney Spears is not going to be charged over the incident that took her to the hospital last night.

At around 8 PM authorities were called to the Spears' Beverley Hills residence after Britney refused to let her youngest son, Jayden James, go back into the custody of his father, Kevin Federline.

An LAPD media relations spokesperson told Access Hollywood, "We do not have plans to charge her." They also said, "There was nothing criminal here and as far as the LAPD is concerned the case was closed last night as soon as the children were handed over to their father."

What happened on Thursday that apparently was the reason why the cops were called to Britney's home is that she allegedly locked herself in a room with her son Jayden while a court appointed monitor took her eldest son, Sean Preston, into the car outside. As the monitor returned for Jayden, Spears refused to let him go and that's when the authorities were called. It's been reported that that the court appointed monitor was the person who called the police.

After a couple of hours, the authorities finally were able to get Jayden out of the room and Britney as well. She was then transported to the Cederas-Sinai Medical Center where they decided that she will be held in an involuntary psychiatric hold, a 5150. The hospital has the right to keep her up to 72 hours in the hospital against her will.

Officer Lee made a statement saying, that he thought the singer appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance, however a source close to the Spears' family has now said something different. "Her blood test just came back, and, thank God, it was clean. There are no traces of drugs or alcohol of any kind.

Attempts to reach the Los Angeles Police Department and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a comment have not been successful Access has said, they refused to comment.

While being taken out of her house in a gurney, Spears reportedly had a smile across her face. People's Deputy Managing Editor Peter Castro told Access, "She locked herself in a room with Jayden, and that's when the cops were called." Castro also said, "It's unclear whether they broke down the door or Britney let them in, but it took a long time for them to get through that door and when they finally got through they saw a disoriented Britney, who hadn't slept for days, apparently hadn't eaten for days, and that's when they decided, 'Let's put her in a gurney, she's under no condition to walk out of here on her own.'"

Access has also spoken to Britney's mother on the telephone, Lynne Spears, who sounded extremely distraught and was crying on the phone asked the Access staff, "Just say prayers." All-the-while Brit's father, Jamie, Britney's lawyer who has requested a release from representing the singer, and her constant companion Sam Lutfi all showed up at the hospital, according to Castro.
