Brittany Gets Baker Acted with a Police Escort

As one starlet after another falls into the drug, drink, party trap the media coverage gets more and more bizarre in it's response The police department have become part of this bizarre parade. We've seen Lindsay Lohan fall apart publicly, we have stars attacking their personnel. We have radio shock jocks being tossed for being over the top. Martha Stewart goes to jail and she's not even a starlet. I'm amazed at the amount of police these situations seem to appopriate. I don't understand why it takes such a large police response to subdue and remove one silly, sadly insane girl.

The latest Brittany stunt appears to have brought her back to the hospital. Her psychiatrist, mother and agent all collaborated to have her Baker Acted according to some reports. When you ar Baker Acted you can be put in a mental facility for 72 hours since you are considered a threat to yourself. In my area you need two psychiatrists to evaluate you and sign you in.She had been speeding all over L.A., stopping only to stock pile Red Bull. She hadn't slept in days. Obviously Brittany is in some sort of nightmare melt down and we are all being kept apprised of her minute by minute melt. There is no question she is mentally ill. There is no question that she needs to be in some sort of facility that she cannot check herself out of. She most certainly needs help.

What caught my attention this time was the police escort. It appears she had a squadron of police accompanying her to the facility along with a helicopter to protect her air space. This amazed me. This is being paid for by the taxpayer. She is not a diplomat , she is not the president of the United States. Who cares if someone snaps off a photograph? I understand keeping the paparazzi at a distance for safety issues. I don't understand why once she is subdued and in an ambulance she needs a huge police escort. Why is this such an issue? Why is all this manpower assigned to her? She had both a motorcyle and squad car procession as well as the helicopters.

She ws brought into UCLA hospital by ambulance. The most recent episode in which she was Baker Acted she was out on her won recognizance in 72 hours and was partying immediately. There was a stad off before they were able to take her away that time. This time she appeared to be compliant.

The fact that this time it was done through her psychiatrist with family members is a hopeful sign. It seems everyone is getting more serious about keeping her in rein and gettng her the help she needs.. THis time her sister and Mother were with her. This time if she tries to bail out of the hospital her psychiatrist can decide if she needs to be appointed a guardianship for her own safety.They will get an affadavit of conservancy and can be held for 14 days so they can supervise her medication and condition.

Perhaps there will be some good that comes out of this. By putting her in a mental facility for more than 72 hours it would actually give her a better chance at restoring monitored child visitation. The courts goal is always family reunification.

Having grown up with a mentally ill mother and having raised a family myself I find it very sad that this situation has become a circus. Hopefully everyone will step up to the plate and get Ms. Spears the help she needs.
