Ingredients
1 broccoli, cut into florets and stalk diced
3 rashes of bacon, fat removed, diced
1/2 cup toasted cashews
1tbs oil
Instructions
Boil broccoli in water on high heat for 5 to 7minutes or until tender and cooked through.
Remove water and place broccoli in a large serving bowl. Cook bacon in a frying pan for 4 to 5 minutes or until crispy. Remove bacon from pan and place into serving bowl along with broccoli and cashews. Combine well.
Serve
As you can see this meal is rather simple to complete but notice the mix of meat (bacon) and vegetables (broccoli). The portions of proteins, carbohydrates and fats are fairly equal. This why the Paloe diet is successful as the meals are not lopsided to just one food group such as proteins. Any successful diet needs to build meals from all the food groups as eating from just one food group may show early weight loss but in the long run can be unhealthy and even lead to weight gain. The human body survives on all foods and Paleo diet recipes are designed for this.
