Brock Lesnar may never fight again according to UFC President Dana White in an interview with TMZ.com. Dana White while not disclosing the illness, said it wasn't cancer and it wasn't HIV. In respect to Brock's wishes for privacy, White didn't specify the ailment but he did say it was an intestinal disorder and would require "major surgery".

Lesnar apparently was in Canada when he collapsed. That is when it was discovered that his sickness was more than just mononucleosis. "I can't really talk about it right now, but he is in rough shape. He's in really bad shape," White said Saturday. "I'm actually probably going to fly to go see him, and we're going to probably have to do some stuff to take care of this guy. He is not well, and he's not getting any better."

WCCO-TV, the Minneapolis CBS affiliate, reported that Lesnar "is suffering is a severe case of diverticulitis, a common digestive disease often found in the large intestine. Diverticulitis develops from diverticulitis, which involves the formation of pouches (diverticula) on the outside of the colon. Diverticulitis results if one of the pouches becomes inflamed."

Acute diverticulitis can be treated with antibiotics. If surgery is required it will possibly require removal of a portion of the colon. Another treatment is to maintain a low fiber diet . Diverticulitis is common for men over 60 in fact half the men over 60 will come down with some for of this ailment . Dana White After confirming Lesnar had surgery, also said he is encouraging Lesnar to check himself into the Mayo clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Lesnar rose to prominence through the WWE, beginning as an NCAA individual Heavyweight National Champion in 2000. Lesnar began his WWE career with his first appearance being Wrestlemania 18. In 2004 Lesnar tried out for the Minnesota Vikings and was cut in training camp. Since then he has been at odds with the WWE since he signed a release that requires him to stay out of the WWE ring until 2010. Lesnar won the IWGP title in Japan October 8th, 2005. In 2006 he was stripped of the title due to visa problems.

Brock Lesnar started his MMA career in 2007. He won his first MMA fight against Min Soo Kim and soon after he was signed by Dana White and the UFC. Lesnar's first UFC fight was against Frank Mir. He was winning the fight until Mir got his his and won by submission with a heel hook.

Lesnar was given a UFC heavyweight title fight against Randy Couture in his third UFC fight. Lesnar beat Couture with a TKO, as he caught Couture in a bad spot and rained down hammer fists on Couture until the referee stopped it.

Lesnar was scheduled to fight in UFC 106 January 2nd but the fight had been canceled last month. As of this date it remains to be seen when Lesnar will fight but Dana White's claim that he may never fight again may be an overstatement.
