Broke Kids Guide to Buying for Parents This Hoiday Season

Kami Valentino
I have been poor most of my life so I could never put hundreds of dollars into a gift. I am sure most young people are in this same situation. Lucky for you I have some cheap gift ideas for the parents.

1)Gift Cards: You can purchase these at almost any store. You can buy them a card at their favorite restaurant or retail store. The amount of the gift card can be whatever amount that you want. You do not have to go broke and you make your parents happy. These gift cards can be brought at places like Walmart, Walgreens, or Target, just to name a few.

2)Gift Basket: Two works "Dollar Tree", most if not all sell baskets, lotion, shaving cream, shavers, body spray, and so on. Be creative fill it with whatever you think your parents may like. The cost will probably not go over $20 for both parents (it all depends on what you place in the basket).

3)Gift Coupons:This is the least expensive of all the gifts. You can use a search engine and type in "gift coupons" or go to http://www.squidoo.com/giftcoupons. You make your own coupons on this site such as "I will wash dishes for a week" or "I will mow the lawn for a week." It is a gift that will reap rewards throughout the year. Your parents will love it.

4)Flowers: This is easy gift to buy. You can pick up flowers in a lot of stores. For example grocery stores or flower shop. They should not be too expensive in the off season. It should not run you over $20.

5)Family photo: This gift is pretty simple. If you have a digital camera, just ask the family get dressed up one day and snap a picture. After taking the picture go to any Walmart, Walgreens, or Target and self-print your pictures. You can also pick up a frame to place the picture in. Your mother will love it.

I hope my cheap gift ideas help! Being broke does not mean you have to skip on gifts for your parents. These are just some ideas, just be creative.
