What has happened to commitment
Chivalry is dead.
Most people want a bed mate
Not someone to wed.
What has happened to loyalty
After the marriage vows "I do"
People walking from their mate and child
Leaving devastated spouse and offspring too
Every day families breaking up
The mother here, the father there
The children left confused
Sometimes feeling no one cares
Time for parents to stop and think
Not only of their own selfish cravings
Of all the obligations they have made
It's their families that needs saving.
Honor, love, respect, till death part
Seems like words of the past
Why are we in a throw away world and country
Where nothing seems to last.
