Broken Hearts Really Do Produce Physical Pain
Thinking of the Love Lost Causes the Brain to Set Off Sensations like Actual Physical Pain
Heartbreak that huge emotional pain we feel that unfortunately sets off hundreds of other emotions.
Dr. Edward E. Smith , director of cognitive neuroscience at Columbia University along with fellow researchers had analyzed forty people from New York City all of whom felt immensely rejected had taken part in this study. Participants had been instructed to look at photos including those of their friends and to think positive thoughts about them. They had also been given photos of their exes and instructed to think about the breakup. Participants had underwent brain scans (MRI's) and were scanned for activity alterations. Participants also had scans done as they felt pain on their arms much like the sensation of holding a hot cup of coffee. Numerous areas of the brain had become active when participants felt physical or emotional pain.
Dr. Smith states rejections does physically hurt.
The research demonstrates that rejection is in a class by itself in terms of being similar to physical pain. Research in the future could examine how emotional pain from rejection affects how people feel physical pain.
The result of the study is simple love really does hurt.
To get over the breakup the usual tips have included:
Take one day at a time. Remember this too shall pass.
Share your thoughts and feelings with a close friend or family member.
Try and learn from the experience.
Above all remember that healing takes time.
Hypnotherapy to the rescue
Hypnotherapy has been noted as an effective treatment where your behavior becomes changed through your subconscious. It may be accomplished in just one session or may take three to five. It all is dependent on how intense the depression feeling is that you are having. Hypnotherapy is less expensive than other treatments and it will give you quicker and faster results.
Hypnotherapy is safe. You can simply wake yourself up at anytime during the session. You will above all not do anything you would not normally do.
