Bromance-MTV's New Series

Starring Brody Jenner

Ok, so I just got done watching Bromace, the new MTV series starring Brody Jenner. You know Brody who is Lauren Conrad's one time crush/best
guy friend on The Hills. He got his own show! Finally. I mean ever since Brody showed up on The Hills as Lauren's guy interest, he has captivated my attention if not my downright interest. I did not know who he was at the time, but as this other show-The Kardashians- soon captivated my attention as only true reality shows can-tongue in cheek-I soon was to learn that Brody Jenner is the son of the great Olympian athlete Bruce Jenner. No wonder we never see him working! Anyway, back to the new show Bromance. Brody has invited-graciously I might add-10 hopeful males in search of a new sidekick now that Spencer Pratt has allegedly been kicked to the curb. With the help of Brody's two seasoned sidekicks Frankie Delgado and the mysteriously named Sleazy T, Brody sets out on a quest to find a third 'right hand man' as he terms it. However, as I sit and watch the first episode of Jenner's new series I'm thinking if just three sidekicks will do for this son of a famed Olympian? Somehow, I see future seasons of this faux reality show play on and on and...well, you get the idea.

The 10 suckers vying for a spot at Brody's right side? To me most of them are not even worth mentioning, but I will for the sake of this article. Alex from Maine, Chris F. a Filipino-American from Orlando, Chris P. a country boy from Kentucky, Femi an African American male from Jacksonville, Gary who hails from England who looks like a total geek but is actually kinda cool, Jered-yes his name is really spelled like that- from Saint Cloud, Fla. who is a lifeguard and should stay a lifeguard for the rest of his life if the way he was portrayed in this first episode is anything to go by. Luke from Massachusetts, Jacob who is a ladies shoes salesman from L.A. and yes, I will spoil the ending. He is the one who gets booted off. And then there is Michael, the only gay participant who leaves the show early because he was disappointed that Bromance was not more like The Hills. I think he wanted to meet Lauren more than he wanted to be best buds with Brody Jenner. So sorry Brody, but I think it was for the best.

The first challenge that Brody picks out for the guys? Getting two girls to come to a nightclub happening. You think it sounds easy huh? They have only 5 hours to wrangle two hot girls-yes, they HAVE to be hot- to show up to this club in Hollywood. In addition, they have to arrive before a certain time. Can they do it? The suspense kills me as I watch them struggle to trap two unsuspecting girls into a game of testosterone. Who will bring the hottest girls? Will Brody approve? The suspense kills me as I watch, glued to the TV. Heck, I'm even watching the commercials! But alas, it is time for Brody to deem who are the two hottest girls in the club that night. And surprise surprise! They're blond. Never saw that one coming...

In conclusion, Bromance has a lot going for it. I'm serious. It really does. It is different from most MTV shows yet in some ways it is the same. I think I'll keep watching to find what makes Bromance a good show. And maybe I'll just keep watching to see if I can see a glimpse of Brody's hot friend Sleazy T. I don't know, there's just something about him that seems so....sleazy. I like.
