Brooke Burke to Co-Host 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 10

It's official. Actress and TV hostess Brooke Burke will be the new co-host on Season 10 of ABC's Dancing With the Stars. DWTS host Tom Bergeron announced that Burke would be the new Season 10 co-host during an appearance on Monday morning's Good Morning America. Burke, who was in Africa on vacation with her family and not present for Bergeron's announcement, replaces former DWTS co-host Samantha Harris, who announced earlier this year that she would not be returning to the show.

DWTS fans already know Brooke Burke well. Back in 2008 she and partner Derek Hough were the winners of the Season 7 competition, beating out competitors that included Lance Bass, Kim Kardashian and Warren Sapp.

Brooke Burke has an impressive TV hostess history under her belt. Including a stint on E's Wild On, she co-hosted a rock and roll American Idol-like singing competition, CBS's Rock Star: INXS and Rock Star: Supernova back in 2005and 2006. She's also hosted specials like Rank, Gilmore Girl's Backstage Special and Smallville Backstage Special, as well as serving as a celebrity judge on Pet Star.

Many Dancing With the Stars fans assumed that DWTS Season 8 competitor, Melissa Rycroft, would nab the coveted DWTS hosting spot. Indeed it was Rycroft who announced this season's celebrity dancers along with Bergeron during last week's Bachelor finale.

As part of her DWTS hosting gig, Burke will interview celebrity dancers and their partners backstage after their performances. She will likely add a lot to the show, as she will be able to speak from experience as a competitor. Here is the official list of dancers that Brooke Burke will interview during the show:

I really do not like the new hostess on dancing with the stars. She is wimpy, beautiful but wimpy.
