The remains of Brooke Wilberger, a 19-year-old Brigham Young University student who was abducted (and presumed murdered) near Oregon State University in 2004, have been found, according to The Oregonian. Authorities will be holding a press conference later today and will release details regarding the discovery of Brooke Wilberger's remains.

Brooke Wilberger was on summer break from her freshman year at BYU when she was abducted; she had been visiting her sister at Oregon State University in Corvallis. Joel Courtney, the man who abducted and murdered Brooke Wilberger, disclosed the location of her remains as part of a plea agreement. Joel Courtney will serve life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of Brooke Wilberger.

The discovery of Brooke Wilberger's remains comes on the heels of what can best be described as a spate of deadly attacks against women. In August, swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore's dead body was found folded into a suitcase and stuffed into a dumpster in Buena Park, California. Her presumed killer is her husband, reality TV star Ryan Alexander Jenkins. Jenkins committed suicide in a motel in British Columbia, Canada before authorities had a chance to arrest him.

Earlier this month, Yale graduate student Annie Le was murdered in the Yale medical research building where she conducted experiments on animals as part of her coursework in pharmacology. Her lifeless body was found stuffed into a wall on the day she was to marry Columbia University graduate student Jonathan Widawsky. Lab technician Raymond Clark III has been arrested by the New Haven police for the murder of Annie Le.

Back in August, George Sodini walked into the LA Fitness gym in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania and shot and killed three women as they exercised in an aerobics class before turning the gun on himself. His blog contained shocking details about his insecurities with respect to woman and dating '" and his gathering rage.

The luxurious Jumeirah Essex House hotel in New York City was the scene of a gruesome murder this weekend. Andree Bejjani was found stabbed to death with a jump rope wrapped around her neck in her 10th floor condo. Hotel housekeeping manager Derrick Praileau has been arrested for the murder.

they get off too easily . they should have their male parts removed.. all of them! and then put into the general population.
crimes with no, or light punishment dont deter those with truly evil hearts and minds such as Courteny.

Can a "best description" contain the word Spate?

"... can best be described as a spate of deadly attacks against women"?

Perhaps a spate of "highly publicized" attacks?
