There seems to be some traction picking up about the gravel in recently opened Brooklyn Bridge Park. More and more people are complaining that they aren't able to roll over the gravel, such as with a wheelchair, stroller or even a bicycle. Now even, Brooklyn Heights Blog recently posts, "Ouchy Pier 1 Gravel and High Heels Don't Mix."

What's even more disconcerting is that the Brooklyn Bridge Park seems to be leaving park visitors between a rock and a hard place, by not doing anything about it, now months later.

I'm all for aesthetics. In fact, whenever it's possible for something to be more aesthetically pleasing and still be just as function-able I'm all in. The question here is can the Brooklyn Bridge Park find a way to retain gravel paths yet make them more function-able?
