If you consider yourself an adventurous eater, you may want to think again, lest you get a mouthful of bugs.

The Brooklyn Kitchen will host Entomo Cuisine on Sept. 18. Wondering what that is? It's actually a four-course dinner all comprised of insects. Items on the menu include meal worms and garlic, moth larvae with corn custard, and mescal. Sounds mouthwatering, doesn't it?

The event is the brainchild of Phil Ross, a self-proclaimed entomophagist. The term actually means "person who eats bugs" and there are quite a few of them in Brooklyn. Entomo cuisine coincides with a gallery opening featuring the work of artist Monica Martinez. Martinez also happens to be Ross' girlfriend.

Ever think of eating bugs? It may all come down to psychology. Convincing yourself that a bug is delicious may be all it takes for a new food adventure.

Though eating bugs may be all the rage for fashionable foodies in New York, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll be able to pick up mealworms and grasshoppers for tomorrow night's dinner anytime soon.

Interested parties can pick up tickets for the event for $85 at thebrooklynkitchen.com. Hurry though, seating is limited.
