November 8 was a busy day for burglars in Brooklyn Heights. The neighborhood had everything from a bank heist to a car theft in a single day.

At almost 10:30 AM, a well-mannered bank robber politely passed a note over to the teller at the Capital One bank on Fulton Street between Red Hook Lane and Smith Street asking for all the 20s, 50s, and 100s in her drawer. He even said the magic word - "please." The would-be burglar got spooked halfway through his own heist, grabbed his note, and ran off.

A 1996 Buick Century was stolen from its parking spot on Wyckoff between Hoyt and Bond at about 1:00 PM. The car has not been located and there were no witnesses to report the crime.

If there's one thing this crime teaches you, always keep your purse by your feet or in your lap at the movie theatre. At about 3:00 PM, when the movie ended at the Court Street Regal Cinema, the victim had only taken a few steps away from her seat when she realized she had forgotten her bag. She turned to retrieve it and a quick-witted thief had made off with her cell phone, credit cards, and $200 in cash.
