Brooklyn, NY 11201
United States of America
The Brooklyn Heights Synagogue will be opening its homeless shelter once again on Monday, November 8 and it will remain open until April 14, 2011. Located at 131 Remsen Street, the shelter offers a warm bed, dinner and breakfast. The shelter can only accommodate 10 women from Monday through Thursday.
Resources are limited for the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue and there is a great demand for volunteers. Overnight volunteers who can supervise the shelter are needed and meals are very extremely helpful. Volunteers can cook meals at the shelter or drop them off anytime before 7 p.m. when dinner is served. Volunteers can sign up through the shelter's website here.
