Brother Sun, Sister Moon

Planetary Kin

Lucky M Diaz
When Earth begins humming
with Her fresh Spring tune
and the calm, cool nights begin,
or the soft, pre-dawn glow of dawn
illuminates Lovers' morning skin-
the Season's song urges Men
to celebrate the Sun
and Women
to reunite with the Moon,
Our Planetary Kin. . .
Brother Sun, Sister Moon.

Nice. The gender is always as you put it, but the specific roles may vary- to wit, when our daughter was a child, our 'home made' non-sectarian grace at meals was: "Thank you Mother Earth and thank you Father Sky for everything and everyone."
